ZIMSEC Admiral Mr E. Ncube has recently told the press that O'level students will no longer have to wait for Exam results for more than two weeks after they have writen them. ''We have come up with a fast and better way which is ten times more efficent and requires less time to mark all ZIMSEC papers"

This process requires at least a dozen people at a station and can mark a minimum of 20 000 papers per day per computer. Each station was given 200 computers. "We are quite happy with this improvement so Form 4s no need to worry because you will be starting your lower 6 a week after the openings in January. We are already done with the feeding of papers to the computers, the grading and the finnal printing what is left is to see if there are any remaining errors that we havnt come across yet."

"We started using it in December just after we imported the full system for 910million Euros. The project made positive results and we as the ZIMSEC board gurantee you that you will receive your O level results two weeks after new year for every year." says ZIMSEC spokesperson Adson Nyamahwai.

This means no more long holidays for O'levels. ''We do appreciate all this you have done for us but why did you have to start using this in 2018 why not 2020 or some years after'' a Jameson student asked but no response was given to him.

Zimbabwe plans new currency as USD and bond note shortages increase

Zimbabwe abandoned its own currency in 2009 after it was wrecked by hyperinflation and adopted the greenback and other currencies, such as sterling and the South African rand. But there is not enough hard currency in the country to back up the $10 billion of electronic funds trapped in local bank accounts, prompting demands from businesses and civil servants for cash which can be deposited and used to make payments. Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube told a townhall meeting on Friday a new local currency would be introduced in less than 12 months. "On the issue of raising enough foreign currency to introduce the new currency, we are on our way already, give us months, not years," he said. Zimbabwe's foreign reserves now provide less than two weeks cover for imports, central bank data show.
